They often contain leftover product: Even a small amount of shampoo, conditioner, cleanser, or moisturiser left inside packaging can contaminate recycling streams. For recycling to work properly, packaging needs to be clean and correctly processed — something that can be challenging with small, single-use containers.
The result? A product designed for convenience can create a much longer-lasting environmental impact.
