Skin regeneration can be up to three times faster at night! Here's how to maximize this: Choose a richer texture for deep nourishment Look for collagen-boosting ingredients (like the marine extracts in our Bright Night Intensive Cream) Apply to both face and neck    Day & Night Cream Duo So, although both day and night creams have goal to hydrate your skin, they can't be used interchangeably as they target your skin differently. A day cream will nourish your skin while keeping it protected against daily pollution, and a night cream will deeply hydrate you skin while addressing skin concerns.   Your skin deserves round-the-clock care, and now you know how to provide it! At Home With Beauty Kitchen…How to Make Your Own Sustainable Food Wrap!

on Dec 21 2021
At Home With Beauty Kitchen…How to Make Your Own Sustainable Food Wrap! We’re getting crafty in our kitchens with all this time spent in the house! All of us in the Beauty Kitchen team were thinking of ways to get involved in a few DIY activities whilst still staying sustainable. Our top suggestion was how to create our own sustainable beeswax wrap, which is a great alternative to using clingfilm to preserve food. Just follow these 4 easy steps!Top tip - simply substitute beeswax for soy wax for a vegan alternative. What You’ll Need 100% sustainable cotton fabric (or some old fabric you can repurpose) 100g pure beeswax 10g jojoba oil (for its antibacterial qualities) 70g pine resin Brush with fine bristles Saucepan & bowl Pinking shears or scissors Baking paper Oven set to lowest temperature Method 1. Melt the beeswax, jojoba oil and pine resin into a bowl over a pan on a low heat, stirring every now and again 2. Place the fabric onto a sheet of baking paper and brush your sheet of cotton with the melted mixture. Place another sheet of baking paper on top and bake in the oven for 1 minute to ensure the beeswax mix melts into the fabric evenly. 3. Take the fabric out of the oven and hang to air dry for 5 minutes. 4. Cut the fabric into whatever shape and size you think best using pinking shears to stop fraying (but scissors are fine if you don’t have any to hand!). We’ve gone for 20cm squares which will generally cover your sandwiches! There you have it…your own sustainable preserving beeswax wrap! You’ll have no need to reach for the plastic cling film once these colourful creations enter your household. Why We Love Beeswax 100% of our Beauty Kitchen products are cruelty free and the majority are Vegan Society registered, but a small number of our products contain sustainably sourced beeswax (a waste byproduct of the honey industry). For example, our Natruline lip balm which we do have a vegan alternative for! Our Founder Jo Chidley has a lifetime passion for botany & nature and has been beekeeping since 2008! “I primarily took up beekeeping to make a difference to the plight of bees, but as a herbal botanist I it also made sense to help the local flora and fauna. It’s amazing to watch the colony on its annual journey, growing from 10,000 bees in the winter to 100,000 at the height of summer!” We always want to be transparent with you on our products which is why we use the Vegan Society Registered logo on our vegan products and list every ingredient on our packagaing & website. We hope you enjoy creating your beeswax wraps!

5 DIY Natural Face Masks You'll Absolutely Love!

on Apr 16 2021
Our latest 'Spring Clean Your Skincare Sustainably' virtual workshop focused on how to create your own natural DIY face masks using what's already in your cupboards! We covered recipes, do's & don'ts for at home facials & some basic massage techniques that are guaranteed to leave you refreshed & glowing for the weekend. If you missed our live workshop, don't worry because we recorded it for you! You can find our full facial guide here too to follow after your face mask treatment. Our Favourite DIY Recipes:#1 Dry Skin: Hydrating Avocado Mask ¼ avocado 1 teaspoon of organic honey (or agave syrup for a vegan alternative) ½ teaspoon natural oil (olive/avocado/sunflower/Abyssinian…) Benefits: Avocado contains natural oils that quickly soften and moisturise the skin. Honey hydrates by drawing water to the surface of the skin, contains anti-inflammatory and antibacterial benefits, and has a low risk of irritation. To make: Mash the avocado together with the honey. Add the natural oil to loosen the mixture slightly & add extra nourishment. Spread evenly onto your face (& neck if you wish), rinsing off after 15-20 minutes. You can substitute the honey for blended cucumber packed full of vitamin E to create a soothing face mask to hydrate and reduce swelling & puffiness. #2 Combination Skin: Creamy Banana, Strawberry & Oatmeal Mask 2 tablespoons of oats ½ a ripe banana 1-2 mashed strawberries 1 teaspoon of organic honey (or agave syrup for a vegan alternative) Benefits: Oats contain amino acids, which help to heal blemishes and repair damaged skin. These benefits are boosted by the addition of honey to relieve tired, inflamed skin. Bananas contain lots of  skin boosting vitamins, including vitamins A and E. Whilst strawberries destroy free radicals that cause premature aging – promoting youthful looking skin! To make: This mask doubles up as a gentle scrub too! Leave on for 10-15 minutes before gently exfoliating the oats into your skin & washing off with warm water. #3 Dull Skin: Brightening Raspberry & Lemon Mask 1 cup water (boiled) 1 teabag green tea 6 raspberries ½ teaspoon of lemon juice Benefits: Green tea has anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe redness and irritation, while raspberries and lemon juice contain loads of juicy vitamin C which is a great antioxidant to help reduce skin damage & premature aging. To make: Steep the green tea in the boiling water for 2 minutes, then empty the tea leaves out in to bowl. Add the raspberries & lemon juice to the leaves & mash into a paste. Apply to face and relax for 15 minutes before washing off with warm water. #4 Oily/Problem Skin: Detoxifying Green Clay Mask 2 tablespoons of Green clay (maybe not one you will have at home, but you can get from health food stores like Planet Organic!) 1 teaspoon of honey (or moistursing agave syrup for a vegan alternative) 1 tablespoon of water for oily skin or natural oil for dry skin Benefits: Green clay will draw out oils & toxins whilst re-mineralising the skin. Again, honey is anti-inflammatory & anti-microbial, good for drawing moisture into the skin while killing acne-causing bacteria. This mask is great to speed up the healing of problem skin! To make: Mix the green clay & water or oil stirring thoroughly. Mix in the honey and add a drop more water or oil if the mix if too dry for you. Apply the mask, leave on for 15 minutes & remove with warm water & a washcloth. #5 Beauty Kitchen Face Masks If you haven't already tried our own Beauty Kitchen Face Masks, here's more info!
