Why We Love Being a Scottish Business
To celebrate St Andrew’s day - we talk about why we love being a business based in Scotland.
There are loads of things that make Scotland a great place to be - beautiful scenic views, lots of fresh air and of course, Highland Cows. Not everyone knows this, but Scotland is actually our home - Beauty Kitchen HQ is based in Wishaw, just 30 minutes outside of Glasgow.
For us, having a business in Scotland is a big part of who we are and there are loads of reasons why it’s great, for a brand like us, to live here. Jo, Our Founder, sums it up:
“Being part of the Scottish entrepreneurial ecosystem, brings businesses together from young business through to established & public sector. The collaboration happens in real time & you pay it forward. So if someone has helped you then you will always do your best to do this in return. We are creating a place that will see our small nation lead the way in entrepreneurship.”
There’s a great network of businesses here in Scotland, thanks to organisations like Scottish EDGE, Scottish Enterprise, Women in Enterprise Scotland (our Founder, Jo is a WES ambassador) and more. They all work together to support businesses like us and act as a great way to meet people who can help and vice versa.

What’s more, since we only use 100% natural ingredients, Scotland is full of forests, greenery and water, meaning we can get our wellies on and go looking for seaweed and other ingredients that give us ideas for new products. This is how Beauty Kitchen first started, and our surroundings still act as a massive source of inspiration for us today.
